‘7 More London Riverside’ ofis binası BREEAM Outstanding (sıradışı) sertifikasını aldı.

Londra’da ‘7 More London Riverside’ ofis binası BREEAM Outstanding (sıradışı) sertifikası ile İngiltere birinci, Britanya’da üçüncü binadır. Grontmij | Roger Preston & Partners bu başarının kazanılmasında önemli bir rol üstlenmiştir.

The office building '7 More London Riverside' on the Southbank of the River Thames in London will become only the third building in the UK and the first office in England to achieve the BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ rating.
BREEAM (BRE Environmental Assessment method) is an environmental standard for buildings, which determines best practice in sustainable design and in the UK is used to describe a building’s environmental performance. Grontmij | Roger Preston & Partners played a central role in achieving this achievement.

Sustainable credentials
This is the final major building to be completed for ‘More London Development Ltd’ who are particularly proud of the building’s sustainable credentials. The 60,884m², 10 storey building, designed by Foster + Partners, incorporates a range of carbon saving measures, renewable energy provisions and efficient Building Services systems. These include sculpted solar shading, solar hot water panels, green roofs, heat recovery systems and fully automated Building Management Systems and metering facilities.

Outstanding BREEAM rating
The key design aspect that assisted in obtaining the ‘Outstanding’ rating was the implementation of a Bio-Diesel fired Combined Cooling Heating & Power (CCHP) Trigeneration system which has been used to provide a low carbon source of cooling, heat and power to the building. This has resulted in 74% less CO2 emissions than that required under the 2006 Part L2 Building Regulations.

Reducing carbon footprint
Grontmij | Roger Preston & Partners was responsible for designing all of the base build engineering services and systems for the building. The tenant, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), together with their designers BDP, is committed to reducing corporate carbon footprint targets. 7 More London Riverside’s sustainable base build credentials were key to helping them maintain and deliver this ethos.

‘A’ rated energy performance certificate
Matthew Thurston, Director at Grontmij | Roger Preston & Partners, said: “I am very pleased with the achievements at 7 More London Riverside and feel this recognition will influence developers and designers to highlight the importance of a building’s environmental credentials. This has been a fully collaborative effort between ourselves, BDP, Foster + Partners and MACE with the full support of our client More London Development Ltd and their tenant PwC. The fact that 7 More London has also been awarded an ‘A’ rating Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) is further testament to the sustainable credentials of this development.”
